TOFFEE-DataCenter a TOFFEE variant for Data Center applications: TOFFEE Data-Center (a variant of TOFFEE) is specifically meant for Data Center, Cluster Computing, HPC, SDN, VM applications. TOFFEE is built in Linux Kernel core. TOFFEE Data-Center will have basic minimal kernel module plus TOFFEE user-space components. The entire packet processing is done within user-space. And these modules can be spawned according to the load, and system's hardware capabilities. In a typical Gigabit system, you can have 10-100 such threads executing simultaneously. And if required based on the load, new threads can be spawned dynamically. With high-speed load balancing systems, you can build a complete WAN Optimization hardware cluster based on TOFFEE Data-Center variant. Here is an example of TOFFEE Data-Center deployment in which TOFFEE Data-Center is deployed in single or in multiple servers with optional load-balancers.

TOFFEE-DataCenter WAN Optimization software development - Update: 13-Aug-2016 ↗
Saturday' 13-Mar-2021
Earlier the TOFFEE is intended to work on IoT devices, Satellite Networks, branch office/SOHO deployments. In most cases the users may deploy just one or couple of TOFFEE devices per site. But in the case of TOFFEE-DataCenter, users can scale-up deploying the same in multiple servers in a sort of distributed cluster computing scenario. Besides the core TOFFEE-DataCenter components (such as packet processing engine/framework), I need to do lot of changes in its Graphical User Interface (GUI) too to address these new requirements.

First TOFFEE-Butterscotch Code Release ↗
Saturday' 13-Mar-2021
TOFFEE-Butterscotch is a variant of TOFFEE can be used to save and optimize your Home/SOHO Internet/WAN bandwidth. Unlike TOFFEE (and TOFFEE-DataCenter) TOFFEE-Butterscotch is a non peer-to-peer (and asymmetric) network optimization solution. This makes TOFFEE-Butterscotch an ideal tool for all Home and SOHO users.

TOFFEE-Mocha WAN Emulation software development - Update: 1-July-2016 ↗
Saturday' 13-Mar-2021
Today I got a feature request from Jonathan Withers. Jonathan is from a company called MultiWave Australia. He said he is able to get the TOFFEE-Mocha Raspberry Pi setup up and with that he is able to emulate geostationary satellite link. But he requested me is there a way to extend the constant packet delay from 40mS to 500mS. So as a part of his request I supported the same in the current ongoing development version of TOFFEE-Mocha.

TOFFEE-Mocha WAN Emulation software development - Update: 19-July-2016 ↗
Saturday' 13-Mar-2021
Today I refined the first page consolidated report graphs. TOFFEE-Mocha (unlike TOFFEE) is a WAN Emulator, so the graphs are supposed to highlight this purpose and should display the overall network activity. Unlike TOFFEE, the TOFFEE-Mocha report should contain in general what is received versus what is sent across the wire. In case if the packet drop feature is enabled, you should see few missing bytes and packets. Similarly in future I may support packet duplication feature, in that case you may see more packets/bytes sent versus the packets/bytes actually received.

TOFFEE-DataCenter :: Features Supported ↗
Saturday' 13-Mar-2021
Here is a list of TOFFEE-DataCenter features supported. TOFFEE-DataCenter currently supports some of the important features such as loss-less network data compression, Packet Deduplication (protocols/applications supported), Application Acceleration, TCP Acceleration, dynamic MTU optimization, data packaging, hardware offload support, etc.

VPN Network Optimization via TOFFEE WAN Optimization ↗
Saturday' 13-Mar-2021
VPN Networks may degrade network performance due to various packet processing overheads such as encryption and by adding extra network protocol header(s) (such as IPv4/IPv6, IPSec, etc). This may inflate near MTU sized packets and causes excessive packet fragmentation. Here are the few examples of packet processing involved in a VPN (or a VPN like) Tunnel. With TOFFEE you can optimize these packets even before they get processed on to a VPN device. TOFFEE optimizes packet contents (application payload and transport headers) so that these TOFFEE optimized packets when they get processed by VPN devices (or VPN software stack) they may never need further packet fragmentation. Here is a deployment scenario of TOFFEE with VPN devices.

Saturday' 13-Mar-2021
Ever since after I launched my new The TOFFEE Project website on 1-May'2016, I can see there is a steep increase in traffic. Soon after the launch when I monitored its Alexa rankings it was reporting about 12 Million or so. But once it is getting more and more traffic the Alexa rankings shot up and now currently it shows around 2 Million (as on 22-July-2016). Alexa is an excellent tool to monitor your overall website global ranking and indirectly its performance. Unlike Google Analytics which is bound one or other way into Google's SEO. Alexa gives you a second opinion about your website's growth.
